Dost Distern è un felice e soddisfatto meccanico, amante del buon cibo, è anche l’amico affidabile del famoso pilota di VRS e utorazzi Valen Suria. Nato nell’anno Ecluare 3149, vive sul pianeta Retra, nella lontana Galassia Andromeda.
Viene da una lunga stripe di cuochi retresti, e terrestri essendo il diretto discendente del famoso Baawarchi Distern, chef di successo della base lunare Moon III nel sistema solare all’interno della Via Lattea, nonché della prima nave intergalattica, la Serendipity, partita dalla Luna in tempi ormai remoti e approdata su Retra dopo un lungo e rischioso viaggio durato per generazioni di generazioni.
“Ho sdirazzato!” risponde Dost quando le persone gli chiedono perché non ha seguito le orme dei suoi genitori. Ci scusiamo per il termine inesistente nella lingua italiana ma, anche se fantasiosa, è la traduzione che abbiamo trovato più rispondente al termine retreste.
Dost non ha mai cessato di pensare a cosa avrebbe potuto cucinare, o mangiare anche quando correva a velocità elevatissime durante la gara per la conquista di Duo. Ora si divide tra Retra e Duo, Valen, Stella e Naya, tra motori, fornelli e la redazione della sua rivista “Le Fantaricette di Dost Distern”. Il periodico, pubblicato in contemporanea sui due pianeti di Eclu, vanta ogni giorno un numero crescente di abbonati.
Per un fortuito caso del destino spazio-temporale, Claudia Marinelli sulla Terra, è riuscita, grazie alla magia telepatica della scrittura, a comunicare con Dost. Come è potuta succedere una cosa del genere? Né Claudia né Dost hanno una valida spiegazione, perché la magia delle parole è ancora nel nostro universo un grande mistero. Dost ha regalato a Claudia la storia della corsa di Valen e una prima raccolta di 17 ricette già nell’anno terrestre 2009, e continua tutt’ora a inviare alla Terra le sue gustosissime ricette i cui ingredienti sono davvero straordinari. Claudia ha voluto trovare i corrispondenti terrestri per cucinare tutti i piatti di questo eccezionale cuoco-meccanico suo amico e regalare le ricette fantascientifiche a chi visiterà questo blog.

WHO IS DOST DISTERN?
Dost Distern is a happy and satisfied intergalactic mechanic who never forgot to enjoy good food. He is also Valen Suria’s best friend and mechanic. He was born on Retra, during the Ecluan year 3149 in the far Andromeda Galaxy.
Even when he was racing at terrific speed to win a piece of land on Duo, he always thought about what he would eat or cook.
Dost comes from a long stock of cooks who lived first on Earth, then on Retra. In fact he’s the direct descendant of famous Baawarchi Distern, successful chef in the base Moon III , on the Moon in the Milky Way, and then on board of Serendipity, the first intergalactic ship that left the Moon and arrived on Retra after a very long journey.
“I misraced!” he answers when people ask him why he didn’t follow his ancestors’ footsteps. We apologize for the use of a non existing English word, but this is the best translation we could figure out for the original Retran term.
Nowadays Dost lives on Retra and Duo, he shares his time with Valen, Stella and Naya, and also with motors, ovens and stoves besides the editing of his magazine “Dost Distern’s Fantarecipes”. The magazine is published on the two Ecluan planets and counts many subscribers.
A fortuitous lucky space-time event happened recently, for the terrestrial Claudia Marinelli reached Dost, with the magic of telepathic writing. How did this happened? Neither Claudia nor Dost have the answer, for the magic of words in our Universe is still a great mystery! But the two became great friends and Dost gave Claudia Valen’s race story and a first collection of 17 recipes during the Earth year 2009.

Dost Distern est un heureux et satisfait mécanicien qui n’a jamais arrêté de penser a ce qui’il aurait pu manger ou cuisiner même quand il courait à un vitesse incroyable pendant la course pour la conquête de la planète Duo. Il est aussi le meilleur ami et mécanicien personnel du fameux pilote de VRS et utofusées Valen Suria. Dost est né pendant l’année ècluaire 3149 sul la planète Retra dans la galaxie Andromède.
Il vient d’une longe lignée de chefs et cuisiniers retrestes et terrestres et il est le direct descendent du fameux Baawarchi Distren, chef de succes sur la base lunaire Moon III , dans le système solaire de la Voie Lactée ainsi, que du Serendipity, premier vaisseau parti de la Lune dans un temps très reculé et arrivé su Retra après un voyage duré beaucoup de générations.
“J’ai deracé” répond Dost aux gens qui lui demandent pouquoi il n’a pas suivi les choix de ces ancêtres. Nous nous excusons pour le mot inexistant en français mais, même si elle est imaginaire, c’est la meilleure traduction que nous avons trouvé pour le terme retreste.
Dernièrement Dost partage son temps entre Retra et Duo, Valen, Stella et Naya, les moteurs et le fourneaux, ainsi que la redaction de son journal “Les Fantarecettes de Dost Distern”. Le périodique est publié sur Retra et sur Duo et compte nombreux abonnés.
A cause d’un heureux hazard du destin espace-temporel, Claudia Marinelli sur la Terre a réussi à communiquer avec Dost grâce à la magie télépatique de l’ecriture. Comment cela a pu arriver? Ni Claudia, ni Dost ont trouvé une expication plausible, mais la magie des mot est encore un grand mistère dans notre univers!
